According to a new Colombian law, the University can't take students
without having one of the following documents:
·
Temporary
student visitor permission (permiso de ingreso y permanencia
temporal como estudiante ) or
·
Student
visa (visa
temporal de estudiante)
The
University will request a copy of your passport and a copy of any of
the above mentioned documents depending on the length of your stay,
so please bring them on your first day of class.
WHICH
ONE DO YOU NEED?
Temporary
student visitor permission:
You need it if you are a citizen of any of the countries listed
below and if you are coming for a period of less than 180 days.
This permission is just a seal that is stamped on your passport at
the airport when you arrive in Colombia. To get it, you need to
ask the immigration officer at EL DORADO airport in Bogota to grant
you the seal when s/he checks your passport once you have shown
him(her) a letter you will receive from us. If your passport does
not have the seal, you will be considered a tourist in Colombia and
if you want to take our course you will have to go to DAS office and
get the permission there, which means that you will miss at least
one day of class.
Student
Visa:
Any student from any nationality needs this kind of visa
if s/he is coming for more than 180 days. This visa is issued at the
Colombian Consulate in your country of residence. The University
will provide you with some documents which you have to take to the
Consulate. You will also need this kind of visa if you come for less
than 180 days and are not a citizen of any of the following
countries:
