Course Descriptions:

Standard Spanish Course: Combine your Spanish studies with tourism, work or play. This course is a half day beginning at 9:00 am until 12:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. This course focuses on improving your communication skills, listening comprehension, conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and pronunciation.

Intensive Spanish Course: Our intensive course offers an additional hour, with classes Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00 am until 12pm. This course focus is the same as our standard course working on communication, listening, conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and pronunciation skills.

Spanish Course One-on-One Lessons: We offer students the opportunity to have individual attention through private lessons of 15, 20 or 25 hour per week. As with all our Spanish courses your tudor will provide instruction in communication skills, listening comprehension, conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and pronunciation. The course location is flexible to allow you to take classes in your office, house, or our schools in any of the cities where we are located.

Weekend Spanish Course: We provide those with busy weekdays a course designed to provide individual attention through a private intensive 2 day course during the weekend. The course focuses in communication skills, listening comprehension, conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and pronunciation. Additionally, the location is flexible to allow you to take classes in your preferred place of residence, business or one of our schools.

Spanish Course and Volunteer: Combine your Spanish studies with the opportunity to volunteer within the local community. While your classes will focus on grammar, conversation, and language comprehension; as a volunteer you will have the opportunity to donate your time to a worthwhile charity (such as an orphanage, hospital, or school). Spanish Course and Dance Lessons: Combine your Spanish studies with dancing lessons! This course includes our Standard Spanish course, followed by dancing classes in the afternoon with a professional instructor. You will move your feet and hips in traditional Latin American dances such as Salsa, Tango, and Merengue. Also, we include instruction in typical Colombian dances such as Cumbia, Mapale, and Vallento. More information: Spanish Course and Dancing Lessons.

Spanish Course and Music Lessons: Combine your Spanish studies with music lessons! This course includes our Standard Spanish course, followed by two one hour private sessons a week with a professional instructor. Select from lessons in piano, guitar, or base guitar. Spanish Course for the Professional Environment (Spanish Course and Business, Spanish Course and Medicine, or Spanish Course for Specific Purpose): We work with you to customize this course for your specific professional needs! Topics are prepared in advance to ensure the material is relevant and tailored to the business needs of the student. We cover aspects such as marketing, negotiations, cultural aspects, etc to meet the needs in today’s global environment. More information: Spanish Course for the Professional Environment.

Spanish Course and Kitesurfing (Kiteboarding) : This course allows you to combine Spanish studies with a kitesurfing (kiteboarding) course in Cartagena for students enrolling from December to March. Those interested in learning Spanish while enjoying adventure water sports will find this course a great combination. More information: Spanish Course and Kitesurfing.

Spanish Course and Sailing (Sunfish): For those students interested in cruising the water on more that just a board, choose to study Spanish and take a sailing course using the easiest and most popular type of sailboat - the Sunfish. This course is only available from April to November in Cartagena. More information: Spanish Course and Sailing.

Spanish Course and SCUBA (mini course or PADI OPEN WATERS certification course): This Cartagena course includes our Standard or Intensive Spanish course, followed by a diving course in the afternoons. We recommend the mini course for those that can only enroll for one week. For those students interested in OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION to become independent divers, we offer our longer diving course. Enrollment for two weeks is a requirement for this course. Finally, we offer scuba or snorkling excursions to Rosary Islands National Park. More information: Spanish Course and Scuba Diving.

Spanish Course and Windsurfing : This course allows you to combine Spanish studies with a windsurfing course in Cartagena and is available year round. If you are a fan of sailing or surfing, have tried windsurfing or always wanted to - this is the course for you! More information: Spanish Course and Windsurfing.

Spanish Course Online: Unable to join us in person? Let Nueva Lengua’s General Spanish courses come to you in our online program. We offer five levels from Pre-Elementary (A1) to Upper Intermediate (B2). Each complete level contains between 120 and 150 hours of study time and each student is assigned a highly qualified personal tutor to support you in your studies.
